The Exhibition
We are thrilled to be a part of Design Tasmania's "The Form That Follows" Exhibition presenting the DL Collection designed by Dion Lee, Sarah Gibson & Nicholas Karlovasitis. The exhibition includes pieces from the collaboration, original prototypes and process work as well as a special retrospective showcase of both practices.
The exhibition, curated by Design Tasmania executive director Claire Beale, is on until 15th August 2019 at Design Tasmania, Launceston. Photography by Emily Dimozantos.
The DL Collection
DL is an interdisciplinary collaboration that merges fashion and industrial design principles. The range is designed by Australian fashion designer Dion Lee and DBT co-founders/industrial designers Sarah Gibson and Nicholas Karlovasitis.
Taking inspiration from Dion Lee’s signature weaving techniques and combining the timeless construction found in GibsonKarlo pieces, the DL Lounge Chair and Bench combines organic materials and angular silhouettes with the use of Italian saddle leather tensioned over a steel frame.
