Picket Screen - Bringing the outdoors inside
The Picket Screen is the latest product to be released by Australian design brand DesignByThem. The playful piece, made from recycled plastic, is designed by creative directors Sarah Gibson and Nicholas Karlovasitis.
Like many of their products, the design is minimal, fun and highly functional. The fluid form is free standing and can be adapted to suit multiple environments and configurations. The screen is available in two heights and can be joined together with connecting modules.
Everyday environments often inspire the designers. “The blurring of the indoor-outdoor environment is something we feel is inherently Australian. The picket fence is such a simple and neat tool for dividing the outdoor environment and we liked the idea of using it just as effectively indoors” says Nicholas.
The product is available in 8 great colours and is both waterproof and UV stable. Custom brackets and wall fixings are available for outdoor environments or straight sections.
